Oral Appliance Services

Mandibular Advancement Splints are dental devices that are worn at night while you sleep. They hold the lower jaw in a forward position to help maintain an open airway. They come in many shapes, sizes and indeed materials. The type that suits anyone can vary. We offer a full range of oral appliances including temporary, custom fitted and even appliances used for research or teaching purposes. A referral is needed from your medical physician to be eligible for oral appliance therapy.

Dental Sleep Medicine (DSM)

Dr Andrew Gikas is a registered dentist and an expert with extensive experience and a long term special interest in oral appliance therapy for the treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea.

As well as private dental practice in Melbourne, Andrew is engaged in public DSM practice at the Alfred Hospital. As well as engaged in teaching, research and private practice at The University of Melbourne Teaching Health Clinics (MDC) where he provides general dentistry and DSM services.
